Sister Joan Chittister has a book of spiritual wisdom called, The Sacred In-Between. As I prepare for a pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi sponsored by Felician Services, Inc., I am seeking wisdom. I thought I would share some of her quotations with you that might help guide you along your path as well:
The God who goes with us in light is the same God who companions us through the dark spots. That’s the God the light is meant to teach us to trust.
To insist on knowing the end of something at the beginning of it is to play God without either the script or the talent for it.
If you are not where you thought you would be at this stage of life, you are, nevertheless, where God is waiting to find you.
Maybe only gardeners really know what it means to plant something and wait to see if anything will come from it. But all of life is like that. If you are not planting something new in your life right now, you have ceased to be part of ongoing creation God meant for all of us to be.
I pray that we can all find God in that sacred in-between. Please keep our CEO Luke and I in your prayers as we head out on our pilgrimage!
Blessed Angela: “I also ask our Holy father Francis that he imbue you with his spirit.”
